OK, I know I'm late to the party on this one but since I upgraded my phone a couple months ago, I now have a decent way to listen to podcasts. One of the first* that I downloaded was "Who's Who: The Definitive Podcast of the DC Universe", part of the Fire and Water Family of Podcasts. Since I just finished listening to Volume III, recorded on August 5th of 2012 (I told you I was late to the party), I'm sure pretty much everyone already knows about this, but I'm going to tell you about it anyway.
The premise is that Rob (of The Aquaman Shrine) and Shag (of Firestorm Fan) take each of the 26 issues that DC produced way back in 1985 (Yup, 28 years ago) and take us through each entry. These entries, somce of whoich can be seen at their Tumblr site go over a wide range of characters. We're talking from Batman to Brother Power. A WIDE range. Through it all, Rob and Shag give us both information and humor, pulling no punches when either the art or the story don't work for them.
I have to say, this is a quite entertaining podcast and I am learning stuff that I never knew about these characters. If you have ANY interest in DC characters at all, I would highly recommend it. I will also be checking out the flagship podcast, Fire and Water, when I catch up with the Who's Who.
* Sorry guys, but the Alton Browncast was my first download.
Thanks for the shout-out Gene!
ReplyDeleteI was happy to do it, Rob. I'm just sorry I was late to the party.
DeleteThanks! Glad you are enjoying the show! It's a blast to record. Kinda reminds me of a couple geeks chatting a comic shop. With all the feedback the show gets, it feels like all of us are there together.

Yeah, it does. With the exception that we can't hear Frank when he's yelling at you for getting something wrong. :D
